About this project

Designed a comprehensive community platform and visual identity combining groups, business directory, event ticketing, marketplace, and job board.

The Habra Habesha project was a major UI/UX undertaking aimed at creating a unified "Super App" design for the Ethiopian and Eritrean diaspora communities. My objective was to design a platform that bridges the gap between traditional community values and modern digital convenience. Using Figma, I architected a comprehensive design system that could support diverse modules—from a robust business directory to real-time messaging and event ticketing—while maintaining a consistent and culturally relevant visual language.

I focused on creating an intuitive user experience that manages complex workflows, such as multi-vendor marketplace transactions and interactive community forums. The design process involved extensive wireframing and prototyping to ensure that the "Super App" concept remained accessible and non-overwhelming for users across different age groups. The visual identity used vibrant, meaningful colors and typography that resonates with the community’s heritage, paired with a clean, high-end digital aesthetic.

The final design portfolio includes over 50 high-fidelity screens, interactive prototypes for all key user flows, and a complete design system for future scalability. The project demonstrates how strategic design can unify disparate services into a single, cohesive ecosystem. The resulting prototypes were used to validate the product concept with community stakeholders and provided a clear roadmap for the technical implementation of the application.
